Challenge
Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE), a leading European media technology and services provider headquartered in Luxembourg, is developing its next-generation Media-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform to provide customers with a unified cloud environment where media applications and services can be accessed through a single interface.
As part of this strategic initiative, BCE's Product, Architecture and Engineering teams are designing a cloud-native platform that will enable scalable, secure and flexible media workflows while supporting the company's long-term product roadmap.
To complement its internal expertise during a key phase of the program, BCE engaged TrackIt to provide additional cloud and media workflow expertise. Working alongside BCE teams, TrackIt contributed specialized knowledge in selected areas, including the evaluation of next-generation Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions and the review of cloud-native architectural approaches.
Implementation
1. MAM Strategy and Evaluation
BCE led a structured evaluation of modern Media Asset Management solutions as part of the evolution of its MaaS platform. TrackIt supported this process by contributing additional technical expertise and participating in the assessment of architectural options alongside BCE's Product and Architecture teams.
Together, the teams reviewed multiple solutions against criteria including ingestion capabilities, metadata management, workflow automation, storage architecture and integration flexibility. This collaborative approach enabled BCE to confidently select a platform aligned with its long-term product vision and hybrid cloud strategy.
2. Platform Architecture Optimization
The overall architecture of the MaaS platform was defined by BCE's internal Architecture and Product teams, with TrackIt providing complementary expertise on selected cloud-native design patterns and media workflow considerations.
The collaboration contributed to validating scalability approaches, workflow orchestration patterns, service integration and secure content delivery mechanisms, reinforcing the robustness and future readiness of the platform.
Outcome
The engagement strengthened BCE's ongoing platform development by bringing additional expertise during an important design phase. Combined with BCE's internal technology leadership, the collaboration helped validate key technical decisions, accelerate selected workstreams and reinforce alignment across Product, Architecture and Engineering teams.
BCE continues to execute its Media-as-a-Service roadmap with a cloud-native platform designed, developed and operated by its own teams. The platform supports deployment across public, private, hybrid and sovereign cloud environments, giving customers the flexibility to address performance, compliance and data sovereignty requirements while benefiting from scalable, secure and future-ready media services.
Impact
- Reinforced technology evaluation: Additional expert input supported BCE's internal teams during the evaluation of key platform components, providing valuable technical insight while technology selection and architectural governance remained under BCE leadership.
- Validated cloud-native architecture: The collaboration confirmed architectural choices around scalability, workflow orchestration and operational resilience, further strengthening the production readiness of BCE's Media-as-a-Service platform.
- Accelerated knowledge sharing: Working closely together facilitated efficient knowledge exchange between teams, helping accelerate selected activities while reinforcing BCE's internal expertise and long-term capabilities.
“TrackIt integrated seamlessly with our Product, Architecture and Engineering teams, bringing valuable expertise in cloud technologies and media workflows during an important phase of our Media-as-a-Service program. Their contribution helped validate technical approaches, accelerate selected activities and complement the expertise already available within BCE as we continue executing our long-term platform strategy.” - Nicolas Serrès, Head of Architecture, BCE
